Package details: The museum doesn't offer a traditional birthday party package, but if you have a minimum group of ten people, you can get the group rate above and design your own party. You can start the day with cake at the picnic ramada just before the main entrance (outside food is not allowed inside the museum). Click here for a list of exhibit areas and activities designed for kids. They can dig for fossils, try on bat ears or a tortoise shell and crawl through kid-sized tunnels. Or, get Animal Tracking Guides on the entrance patio for $1 each and have the kids complete them for a certificate.

Flandrau Science Center & Planetarium

Package Details: You get two hours in the Mezzanine, choice of red or blue table covers, access to all science center exhibits, free roam of the mineral museum and a planetarium show. You can add on a slime science demonstration for $25 or a liquid nitrogen demonstration for $40. You have to bring your own food, drinks and decorations. Tip: You must book at least two weeks in advance.
Party time slots are 6 p.m. Fridays, 11 a.m. and or 3 p.m. Saturdays and noon or 1 p.m. Sundays.
